Kudzai Ngoni Nyamasoka, a pastor with Faith Ministries International has been arrested on allegations of fraud and forgery.
The clergyman was arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).
Allegations are that sometime in March 2024, Nyamasoka unsuccessfully applied to Harare City Council to lease a piece of land adjacent to his church.
However, the land had already been leased to another church, True Believers International Ministries (TBIM).
In a desperate bid to forcefully take the land he connived with some individuals yet to be identified.
Some of them purported to be from the ZRP, President’s Office and Zanu PF.
ZACC says the alleged criminals intimidated members of the TBIM until they vacated the stand.
“The accused would also threaten Harare City Council officials purporting to be one Phiri, an officer from ZACC.
“(They) would write fraudulent letters with ZACC logo to the City of Harare’s Mbare district office officials,” it says.
Nyamasoka is set to appear in court today.
