Tendy Three Investments (TTI) has been accused of failing to remit full funds to Bulawayo Council while sponsoring the opposition.

The allegations are contained in a letter by former Chegutu West Member of Parliament Dexter Nduna.

Nduna says the contract between TTI and Bulawayo Council should be cancelled.

“The said private company is not remitting the total monies which are public funds for the intended purposes of road maintenance to you or the Ministry of Transport.

He said his proposal is for Council to partner his National Eye Security Company.

This will be for “the collection and remittance of 100% parking fees to yourself and the Ministry of Transport.

Nduna said the funds will then be used for road maintenance.

“Daily collection could amount to US$1m per day according to more than 100 thousand parking spaces in Bulawayo.

Further to this Nduna has promised to cut the parking charge from US$1 to US$0,50.

Political Sponsorship

The politician also accuses TTI of dabbling in politics.

“The money, if left in the wrong hands, as is currently the case, could be used to sponsor negative projects.

Nduna said he hopes to stop, “money laundering, tax evasion, fraud and sponsoring opposition politics which I strongly feel is what is obtaining currently at TTI.

BCC contracted TTI in 2022 to manage parking in the city under a US$2 million public-private partnership.

It was structured on a build, operate and transfer arrangement through which the local authority hoped to raise income and create employment.

The contract between is crafted in such a way that TTI remits 30 percent of revenue to BCC while pocketing 70 percent

However, the arrangement has been assailed by many challenges over the past years.

Some motorists have occasionally complained of harassment by some of the TTI workers, especially clamping teams.

Meanwhile remittances to Bulawayo have also been controversial despite some positive figures.

In the first quarter of 2024 TTI remitted over US$1,5 million to Council.
