Bulawayo Council has disconnected water to 28 suburbs as it conducts routine maintenance at Tuli, 6J and Rifle Range reservoirs.
Town Clerk Christopther Dube revealed details of the program on Sunday.
Dube said the operation would be from 9 to 11 June, before water returns.
“Repairs are concentrated at corner Old Esigodini Road and Percy Avenue valve chambers.
“Residents and stakeholders are advised that dates and the duration are subject to change depending on the progress of the repairs of the pipeline,” Dube said.
Only areas usually supplied by the three reservoirs will be affected.
These include Holiday Inn, Ascot, Khumalo, Parklands, Queens Park, Mahatshula, Woodville, Kingsdale, Hopeville, Killarney, Fairbridge, Lochview, Sunnighill and Riverside Marlands.
Others are Glencoe, Waterford, Manningdale, Willsgrove, Buena Vista, Douglasdale, Fortunes Gate and Selborne Park.
Matsheumhlophe, Burnside (East of Burnside Road), Mqabuko Heights, Harrisvale, Trenance, Richmond and Sauerstown complete the list.
“The City of Bulawayo wishes to apologise to its valued consumers for the inconvenience likely to be caused.
“Supplies will be restored after the completion of works, subsequent charging of the Tuli pipelines, 6J and Rifle Range reservoir to satisfactory levels,” Dube said.
Bulawayo has already been facing massive water shortages and the maintenance work will only worsen the situation.
