Former Harare Council Finance Director Stanley Ndemera has been given another 10 years after being found guilty for illegally selling stands.
He, together with Emmanuel Mutambirwa, was accused of illegally selling stands from land leased by Old Hararians Sports Club.
The two will now serve a total of 16 years after conviction and 6 year sentences in another case for selling land on Mt Pleasant Sports Club.
The two were sentenced by High Court Judge Justice Benjamin Chikowero.
The Case
According to the state the two committed the crime between September 2018 and August 2020.
Ndemera and Mutambirwa sold the stands to Silver Harbour Enterprises, Optel Enterprises and Leanforth Investment.
According to Chikowero, the deals contravened a Council resolution from 2005.
The resolution prohibits the selling of land without a public tender process.
Meanwhile Ndemera and Mutambirwa also facilitated the deal without securing an environmental impact assessment report.
