One hundred and three (103) unclaimed vehicles, towed away by Harare Council, are set to be sold at an auction.

The vehicles were towed away by council police for violating Harare Parking By-Laws.

Council’s Finance Committee says the auction will be conducted by Glow Track Investments.

“The Committee considered a report by the Town Clerk.

“It recommended approval of the disposal by public auction of 103 unclaimed motor vehicles.

“(These) had been towed-away by the City of Harare for violating Harare Parking By-Laws.

The Council committee is still waiting a further report on another 39 vehicles which may also be auctioned off.

“An official from the Supply and Chain Division advised that the difference of 39 vehicles were still under-going some verification processes.

“A report on these will be submitted to the Committee.

The council committee has since made a resolution to visit the site where the vehicles are parked pending the auction.

According to the Harare (Clamping and Tow Away) By-laws, 2005 Council can sell a vehicle if it is unclaimed after 30 days.
