President Mnangagwa’s has invoked presidential powers to save Ruwa Local Board from losing equipment due to a list of debts.
Ruwa has been struggling to service its debts due to financial challenges.
The Council was set to lose equipment such as refuse compactors, graders, honey sucker, motor vehicles and sewer pumps.
The High Court recently approved the attachment of disposable assets to liquidate the debts.
However, the intervention of President Mnangagwa has saved the town.
“Now, therefore, His Excellency the President, in terms of section 2 of the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) Act [Chapter 10:20], hereby makes the following regulations:—
