City of Harare Director of Water Phakamile Mabhena Moyo has been appointed Acting Town Clerk.
This follows the arresting of substantive Town Clerk Hosiah Chisango over corruption allegations.
Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume announced the changes during a Full Council meeting on Thursday.
“The Town Clerk was arrested and we have asked Eng Mabhena to be acting Town Clerk,” said Mafume.
Mabhena has been previously appointed to the same office.
In 2023 he was apponted Acting Town Clerk before he was himself arrested on corruption allegations.
In 2021 he also acted as Town Clerk for some time following the arresting of the substantive TC at that time.
