Harare City Council (HCC) has suspended Engineer Albert Madanha on allegations of abuse of office.
This is the second time that Madanha has been suspended over such charges.
Madanha is accused of involvement in the illegal distribution of land in the capital.
HCC has since advised residents not to engage in any council-related business with Engineer Madanha.
“This serves to notify the public and residents that Engineer Albert Madanha has been suspended from the city’s roads division in the Department of Works.
“He is barred from conducting any City of Harare business.”

In 2023 Madanha was sent on paid leave pending investigations into similar allegations of abuse of office.
“This notice serves to notify the public that Engineer Albert Madanha is on paid leave from the City of Harare as there are allegations of abuse of office in respect of him.
Internal sources revealed that Madanha had been suspended but was resisting the decision.
This has resulted in Council barring him from entering its premises until conclusion of the case.
