The Municipality of Marondera has responded to government’s order to re- advertise the town clerk (TC)’s post through flighting an advert in local newspapers.
This came after the Local Government and Public Works ministry nullified the three shortlisted candidates whose names had been fowarded for appointment.
The TC post fell vacant following the retirement of Josiah Musuwo who held the position for more than 25 years.
“The advert is out and the process has begun. That is all i can say,” he said.
The shortlisted candidates were Chamber Secretary and Acting TC Rinashe Nyamuzihwa, Town Finance director John Kachingwe and Murewa Town Council Chief Executive Alois Gurajena.
Simbarashe Nyahuye told Open Council Marondera that the process of finding a new TC has begun.
In a circular released last month, the government told the local authority to re-advertise the post two years after candidates were shortlisted.
