The Public Accounts Committee recently held oral hearings on why some City Councils have failed to present financial statements for audits.
It arraigned Hwange RDC, Karoi City Council, Gweru City Council and Hwange Local Board.
The key objectives of the inquiry were to:
(a)Ascertain the reasons for failing to comply with Section 49(1) of the Public FinanceManagement Act.
(b)Make recommendations to curb the recurrence in future.
