In January, the High Court ordered President Emmerson Mnangagwa to make public the findings of the Uchena Commission, which investigated the disposal of State land in transactions estimated to have cost Zimbabwe up to US$3 billion.

Early this week, the President directed that the Commission make public the findings.

The commission was established in February 2018 and chaired by High Court judge Justice Tendai Uchena.

It was directed to investigate the selling of State land in urban and peri-urban areas since 2005.

The initial case demanding the release of the report was brought before the courts by former Harare East legislator Allan Markham.

He argued that the report had unearthed massive acts of corruption which needed to be made public.

Initially, the Attorney-General, Virginia Mabhiza, contested the argument, arguing that the Constitution does not compel the President to publish reports produced by commissions of inquiry.

However, the latest turn of events sets the stage for the release of the document,t which has hinted at massive corruption under which the State lost over US$3 billion.

Below is the full summary of the report as released by the Uchena Commission.
