MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora has recalled 3 Norton Town Councilors on allegations that they have defected to the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
The three Councilors are Clr Charles Dube from Ward 2, Clr Muchaneta Munyeveri, Ward 3 and Clr Rosemary Chinoera, Ward 9.
One of the recalled Councilors, Clr Chinoera was quoted in the media accusing Mwonzora of hounding her.
“He is the one who hounded me from my previous assignment of health promoter.
“I do not care at all about a recall because I am loyal to President Chamisa,” she said.
The recalls leave NTC short of 4 councilors following the passing away of Clr Nyarumbu in 2022.
The MDC-T is now officially left with 6 councilors in Norton who include the Chairman Sylvester Gumisirai and his Vice Reign Mtatabikwa.
The others, Clr Douglas Chililo and Clr Laston Tachiona are independent while Clr Tino Mafusire is from ZANU PF.
Some legislators and councilors have lately chosen to be recalled by showing allegiance to the CCC as the political prospects of MDC-T have looked dead.
The party has been torn apart by massive factional fights which have lately resulted in the recalling of former party Vice President Elias Mudzuri.
Former party leader Thokozani Khupe has since joined Chamisa in CCC.
